The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is a leading provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities and autism across Ireland. We are now inviting applications for a Permanent Whole-Time Team Leader (Social Care Leader 3030) based in Galway City. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team supporting individuals to live meaningful and independent lives within their community.
About the Role
As Team Leader (Disability Services), you will oversee the delivery of person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. You will provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring quality standards, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and effective day-to-day operations of assigned services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and support a team of social care staff delivering residential and community-based supports.
- Ensure all services align with the organisation’s ethos, HIQA regulations, and person-centred planning principles.
- Coordinate rosters, training, and performance management within your team.
- Promote positive risk-taking and community inclusion for service users.
- Liaise with families, multi-disciplinary teams, and external agencies to maintain high standards of care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with governance and safeguarding policies.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and organisational development.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A QQI Level 7 or higher qualification in Social Care or a related discipline recognised by CORU.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in disability or social care services.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in a Section 38 organisation or similar service setting.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards, New Directions, and Person-Centred Planning.
- Full clean driving licence.
What We Offer
- Grade: Social Care Leader (3030) — Salary Scale effective 1 August 2025:
€52,978 – €64,035 per annum (including LSIs as per Department of Health Consolidated Pay Scales). - Permanent whole-time position with pensionable terms and conditions.
