Grade VI – Senior ICT Project Officer – Dublin Midlands Region | HSE

Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin Midlands Health Region and help drive digital transformation across Ireland’s public healthcare system. The Technology and Transformation (T&T) Team is seeking a Senior ICT Project Officer (Grade VI) to support the delivery of strategic ICT projects that enhance clinical, administrative, and operational systems across the region.

About the Role

As a Senior ICT Project Officer, you’ll work within the Technology & Transformation Team to coordinate, deliver, and monitor ICT initiatives aligned with HSE’s Digital Health Strategy. This position involves close collaboration with regional management, healthcare facilities, and central ICT teams to ensure timely, efficient, and secure implementation of digital projects.

Base Location:
Flexible within the Dublin Midlands Health Region – offices available in Tullamore, Naas, and Dublin.

Contract: Specified Purpose (24 months), Whole-Time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the rollout of regional ICT and digital transformation projects.
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and reporting with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE ICT governance and data security policies.
  • Liaise with vendors and technical teams to deliver high-quality ICT solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within digital health services.
  • Support end users through training, documentation, and technical assistance.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and provide progress updates to management.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in ICT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years’ relevant experience in ICT project or systems management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects within large organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, data management, and digital systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in public sector ICT or healthcare technology projects.
  • Knowledge of HSE ICT frameworks and project governance.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile).
