About the Role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is inviting applications for the position of Radiographer, Advanced Practice, Candidate at Letterkenny University Hospital, a leading acute care facility in the HSE West and North West region.
This is an exciting opportunity for a radiographer who is progressing towards advanced practice status, working in a dynamic diagnostic imaging environment committed to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and continuous professional development.

As a Radiographer, Advanced Practice, Candidate, you will support specialised imaging services, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and deliver evidence-based practice in alignment with HSE clinical standards and CORU professional guidance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and report on diagnostic imaging studies with advanced-level clinical reasoning.
  • Support service improvement and quality assurance within radiology workflows.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to protocol development and clinical governance within imaging.
  • Supervise and mentor junior radiography staff and students as required.
  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and maintain CORU registration.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies on safety, infection prevention, and radiation protection.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Diagnostic Radiography (BSc or equivalent).
  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, on the Radiographers Division of the Register of Radiographers maintained by CORU.
  • Demonstrate evidence of progression toward an Advanced Practice scope under HSE and CORU criteria.
  • Have at least 5 years’ post-qualification clinical experience in radiography.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and team leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to advanced imaging modalities (e.g. MRI, CT, Ultrasound).
  • Experience in audit, research, or service development initiatives.
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical governance or multidisciplinary project work.

    €60,130 – €72,864 per annum (including LSIs where applicable).
