Connolly Hospital, HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a Staff Nurse (Altra Foirne) to join the Intensive Care Unit. About the Role
The Staff Nurse (ICU) will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to the highest professional and ethical standards. Working within the model of nursing care practiced at Connolly Hospital, the successful candidate will deliver holistic and evidence-based care that promotes patient safety, dignity, and optimal recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit.
- Assess patient conditions and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor and manage advanced life support equipment and medication infusions.
- Collaborate with medical, surgical, and allied health teams to achieve best outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with HSE and NMBI standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and clinical audits.
- Support junior staff and contribute to a culture of safety and learning.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated experience in acute or critical care settings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and HSE values.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or specialist training in Intensive Care Nursing.
- Experience working in a Level 3 ICU environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and evidence-based care pathways.

- Salary: €37,288 – €55,477 per annum (13 points including LSI), in line with HSE Consolidated Pay Scales effective 1 August 2025.
