About the Role
The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (CMM2) will play a key leadership role in the Post Natal Community Outreach Hub Services at University Hospital Waterford (UHW). This position offers an exciting opportunity to support postnatal mothers and infants within the community, promoting best practices in maternal and infant health. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams and contribute to developing innovative, evidence-based outreach midwifery services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management across postnatal outreach services.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, woman-centred, safe care in line with HSE and national maternity frameworks.
- Supervise and support staff midwives and healthcare assistants within the outreach team.
- Liaise with community healthcare providers to ensure seamless postnatal follow-up and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with professional and service standards.
- Participate in policy development, audit, and continuous quality improvement.
- Support education, mentorship, and professional development within the midwifery team.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years in midwifery.
- Demonstrated ability in leadership, communication, and team management.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Midwifery or Leadership.
- Experience in community midwifery or postnatal care.
- Familiarity with HSE governance structures and maternity service frameworks.
