An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Medical Scientist (Surveillance) to join the laboratory services at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. This role plays a critical part in delivering a high-quality, efficient laboratory surveillance service to consultants, clinicians, and patients across the hospital and wider community.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate at senior level in providing an effective laboratory surveillance service
• Support consultants and medical teams with accurate, timely laboratory data
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and accreditation standards
• Contribute to surveillance reporting, analysis, and interpretation of results
• Supervise and support scientific and technical staff as required
• Participate in service development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Adhere to all HSE policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Scientists Registration Board (CORU)
• Significant post-qualification experience as a Medical Scientist
• Demonstrated experience operating at, or suitable for, Senior Medical Scientist level
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to quality assurance and patient-focused service delivery
