Galway University Hospitals are seeking a Senior Physiotherapist Practice Tutor to support, develop, and lead high-quality clinical education for physiotherapy students. This role plays a vital part in shaping future physiotherapy practice while contributing to patient-centred care across a broad range of clinical services.
Table of Contents
This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is based within HSE West and North West.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate practice education for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students
• Support clinical educators and staff involved in student supervision
• Promote best practice in physiotherapy education and training
• Contribute to service development through education, audit, and quality improvement
• Facilitate inter-professional learning and collaboration
• Maintain high clinical standards across a broad range of conditions
• Engage in continuous professional development relevant to the role
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist
• Senior-level clinical experience in physiotherapy practice
• Demonstrated experience in practice education of physiotherapy students
• Evidence of continuous professional development in education and training
• Experience working across a broad range of clinical conditions
• Proven ability to work effectively in inter-professional healthcare teams
• Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Senior Physiotherapist (Grade 3158) consolidated pay scale (August 2025)
• Working hours: Permanent part-time contract
