Sligo/Leitrim Disability Services are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for Quality and Governance to provide strategic leadership across intellectual disability services. This senior leadership role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality, safe, and person-centred care aligned with national standards and HSE governance frameworks.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior nurse leader with extensive management experience in Intellectual Disability Services who is motivated to drive quality improvement, risk management, and clinical governance across a diverse service area.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for quality, safety, and clinical governance across disability services
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, HSE policies, and national regulatory frameworks
• Lead and oversee quality improvement initiatives and governance structures
• Support and develop nursing and multidisciplinary leadership teams
• Manage risk, incident reporting, and continuous improvement processes
• Contribute to service planning, development, and performance management
• Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and person-centred care
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant senior management experience within Intellectual Disability Services
• Demonstrated expertise in quality, governance, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and change management skills
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary team leadership
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale: Director of Nursing Band 2A (Grade Code 2905)
- €87,533 – €96,910 per annum (based on August 2025 HSE consolidated pay scales)

Location & Employer Information
This role is based across Sligo and Leitrim, supporting a wide range of community-based disability services. Sligo/Leitrim Disability Services operate within the HSE West and North West region, delivering person-centred supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
