University Hospital Limerick is seeking a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases to join its specialist consultant team on a permanent whole-time basis. This senior clinical role offers the opportunity to deliver high-impact specialist care within the HSE Mid West region, contributing to acute hospital services, infection prevention, and clinical leadership.

This is a prestigious consultant appointment with responsibility for high-quality patient outcomes, service development, and multidisciplinary collaboration in one of Ireland’s busiest university hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver consultant-led specialist care in infectious diseases
• Provide inpatient and outpatient infectious disease services
• Participate in infection prevention and control programmes
• Lead and support multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
• Engage in audit, research, and service development initiatives
• Participate in consultant on-call rotas as required

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Specialist in Infectious Diseases on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Extensive postgraduate training and experience in infectious diseases
• Demonstrated ability to provide consultant-level clinical leadership
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland at consultant grade
