HSE Mid West is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead and oversee catering services across Acute Services in the region. This permanent part-time role plays a critical part in delivering safe, nutritious, and high-quality food services within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage catering operations across assigned HSE Mid West facilities
• Ensure compliance with HSE, HACCP, and food safety standards
• Oversee menu planning, nutrition standards, and food quality
• Manage catering staff, rotas, training, and performance
• Control budgets, procurement, and stock management
• Collaborate with clinical and management teams to meet service needs
• Drive continuous improvement in catering services

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Recognised professional chef qualification
• Significant experience in large-scale catering or healthcare catering
• Proven leadership and staff management experience
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Chef – Executive (Grade 4211)
• Pay scales governed by Department of Health Circulars (effective 1 August 2025)
