Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown is seeking a Registrar in Gastroenterology for the July 2026 intake. This is a fixed-term, whole-time post within the HSE Dublin and North East region, offering advanced clinical exposure in a busy acute hospital setting.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care
• Participate in endoscopy services under consultant supervision
• Manage acute GI admissions and ward consults
• Contribute to on-call rotas in line with NCHD requirements
• Support teaching of interns and medical students
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and discharge summaries
• Engage in audit, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary meetings
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) on the General or Specialist Division
• Minimum 2 years post-internship experience (including SHO level)
• Prior experience in gastroenterology or general medicine (desirable)
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• Strong clinical judgement, teamwork, and communication skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (Registrar – Medicine, Grade 1530): €68,891 – €81,126 per annum (subject to point on scale)
• Additional on-call allowances payable in line with HSE rules
• Fixed Term, Whole-time contract
