Tipperary University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist (Chest Pain) to join its cardiology services. This permanent whole-time role plays a key part in the assessment, management, and coordination of care for patients presenting with chest pain. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced nursing practice within a multidisciplinary acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist clinical assessment and management of patients presenting with chest pain
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care within cardiology and chest pain pathways
• Work collaboratively with cardiology consultants and multidisciplinary teams
• Support early diagnosis, risk stratification, and patient flow within acute services
• Contribute to patient education, secondary prevention, and discharge planning
• Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the live Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in cardiology and/or chest pain management
• Post-registration qualification relevant to the specialist area (desirable)
• Have undertaken, or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe, the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate
• Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
