University Hospital Limerick is recruiting a Registrar in Anaesthesia for the July 2026 NCHD national rotation. This is a fixed-term, whole-time post offering structured clinical exposure within a busy tertiary teaching hospital in the HSE Mid West region.

The role is suited to doctors with prior experience in anaesthesia who are seeking progression within hospital-based training and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe and effective anaesthetic care under consultant supervision
• Participate in theatre, critical care, and on-call anaesthesia services
• Assist with pre-operative assessment and post-operative management
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
• Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities
• Comply with HSE policies, protocols, and patient safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) – number must be stated on application
• Previous experience in anaesthesia at registrar or equivalent level
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• OET/IELTS certification where applicable
• Membership examinations are desirable
• Inactive or pending IMC registrations will not be accepted
• CVs are not accepted at this stage

• Salary in line with HSE Registrar (Medical & Dental) pay scales (August 2025 rates)
