HSE Mid West is seeking a Home Support Resource Officer to join its team in Limerick. This is a Specified Purpose Wholetime post offering an opportunity to play a key role in the coordination and delivery of home support services across the region.
Role Overview
The Home Support Resource Officer is responsible for the effective management, scheduling, and oversight of home support services within the HSE Mid West region. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will coordinate care resources to meet the needs of service users, ensuring timely and appropriate delivery of home support packages. This role supports the HSE’s commitment to enabling people to live independently in their own homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule home support services for service users across the HSE Mid West region, ensuring efficient allocation of Healthcare Assistants and resources.
- Act as a key point of contact between service users, families, and Home Support staff, addressing queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and review home support packages to ensure they reflect the current and assessed needs of service users.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with HSE data management and governance requirements.
- Liaise with Occupational Therapists, social workers, Public Health Nurses, and other relevant healthcare professionals regarding individual care plans.
- Contribute to service planning and development, supporting quality improvement initiatives within the home support service.
- Manage staff rotas, absences, and replacement cover to ensure continuity of service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and relevant legislation in the delivery of home support services.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria as set out in the HSE’s campaign documentation for the Home Support Resource Officer (Grade Code 6484) grade. This typically includes relevant experience in the coordination or management of community or social care services, together with demonstrated administrative and communication skills. Salary
This post is remunerated in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for the Home Support Resource Officer grade (Grade Code 6484), effective 1 June 2026:
€52,758 – €63,110 per annum (7-point scale, plus Long Service Increments where applicable)
Location
This post is based in Limerick and is part of the HSE Mid West health region, which serves populations across Limerick, Tipperary, and Clare. The Home Support service operates within the community, and the post-holder will work within established operational structures supporting service users to remain in their own homes.
