University Hospital Waterford is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse Theatre/Anaesthetics & Recovery to join its perioperative team. This permanent HSE opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic surgical environment delivering high-quality patient care across theatre, anaesthetics, and recovery services.
This campaign may create a panel for current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies (full-time or part-time).
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care within theatre, anaesthetics and recovery settings.
- Support surgical teams in maintaining safe and efficient operating environments.
- Monitor and assess patients pre- and post-operatively.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team collaboration to optimise patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Registration as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Experience in theatre, anaesthetics or recovery nursing (desirable).
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE Staff Nurse (General) Grade 2135 consolidated pay scale effective 1 August 2025 .
