The Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Waterford opportunity at University Hospital Waterford is a senior leadership role within nursing and midwifery services. As Nurse Planner (Bainisteoir Altra Cliniciúil 3 – Pleanálaí Altra), you will play a critical role in workforce planning, governance, and service development across the hospital.

This permanent whole-time post offers an opportunity to lead strategic nursing initiatives within a busy acute hospital in the HSE Dublin and South East region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead nursing workforce planning and service development initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership to nursing teams and senior management.
  • Support implementation of national HSE policies and clinical governance standards.
  • Monitor staffing levels, skill mix, and resource allocation.
  • Drive quality improvement and patient safety programmes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery.
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
  • Significant post-registration clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience at senior level.
  • Experience in workforce planning or service development is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to lead change and deliver strategic objectives.
