The Registrar Urology Surgery Limerick position at University Hospital Limerick offers an excellent opportunity to advance your surgical training within a busy tertiary hospital environment. This fixed-term wholetime post forms part of the HSE Mid West medical team, delivering high-quality urological care across the region.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides valuable experience in acute surgical services within a major teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to patients under the supervision of Consultant Urologists.
- Participate in elective and emergency urology procedures.
- Assess, diagnose and manage urological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Contribute to ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and on-call rotas.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Support teaching, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Previous experience in Urology or General Surgery at Registrar level.
- Demonstrated competence in acute surgical care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.

- Salary aligned with HSE Registrar Grade 1537 pay scale.
- 2026 salary scale ranges from €69,580 to €81,937 depending on point placement.
