Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is seeking applications for the position of Registrar in Nephrology (Grade 1538). This fixed-term wholetime post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical professional to contribute to specialist renal services within a busy acute hospital setting in Louth.
This is an internal campaign and is open only to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with acute and chronic renal conditions.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient nephrology services, including ward rounds and clinics.
- Support dialysis services and the management of patients requiring renal replacement therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to clinical audits, teaching, and service development initiatives.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration on the General Division of the Medical Council of Ireland.
- Relevant postgraduate experience in Nephrology or General Internal Medicine.
- Demonstrated competence in acute medical assessment and renal care.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Must meet eligibility criteria for internal HSE applicants under WRC Agreement 161867.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is in accordance with the February 2026 HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Registrar Grade Code 1538, ranging from €69,580 to €81,937 per annum (1 February 2026 scale), depending on point placement .
