Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Limerick opportunity at University Hospital Limerick offers an exciting leadership role within the Clinical Trials Respiratory service. You will play a central role in supporting respiratory research initiatives, ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and excellence in nursing practice across all assigned clinical trial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Clinical Trials Respiratory nursing team in line with HSE standards and best practice guidelines.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of respiratory clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and documentation throughout all trial phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and research partners.
- Support staff development, supervision, and performance management.
- Monitor service quality, governance compliance, and risk management processes.
- Contribute to service planning, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including relevant respiratory or clinical trials experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience at CNM1 level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, research protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

- Salary aligned with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119) pay scale: €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI) per annum (February 2026 rates).
