Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and service of meals to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
- Support stock control, storage, and rotation of food supplies.
- Operate catering equipment safely and in accordance with training.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hospital infection control procedures.
- Work collaboratively with catering and healthcare staff to meet service demands.
- Participate in cleaning schedules and waste management procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP awareness preferred).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service in a healthcare environment.

Location & Employer Information
This position is based at Roscommon University Hospital, Athlone Road, Roscommon Town, Co. Roscommon, within the HSE West and North West health region. The hospital provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services and plays a key role in delivering healthcare across the region.
This role is part of the Health Service Executive (HSE). It is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
