Job Overview
The Consultant Obstetrician Limerick position offers an outstanding opportunity to join University Maternity Hospital Limerick within HSE Mid West. This permanent wholetime post provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care in a leading maternity setting, contributing to excellent maternal and neonatal outcomes.
This Consultant Obstetrician Limerick role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and represents a key leadership and specialist position within the Medical and Dental division.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services in line with national clinical guidelines.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and support NCHDs and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in on-call rotas and emergency obstetric services as required.
- Engage in teaching, research, and continuous professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
