Job Overview

The Ability Programme Facilitator Wexford role with Cumas New Ross offers a rewarding opportunity to support young people with intellectual disabilities as they shape their futures. As an Ability Project Facilitator, you will empower individuals to discover their strengths, explore career paths, and build essential life skills within their community.

This permanent wholetime position is ideal for a motivated Social Care Worker who is passionate about advocacy, inclusion, and creating real opportunities for young people in the New Ross area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people with intellectual disabilities to identify strengths, interests, and future goals.
  • Facilitate personal development planning and goal-setting processes.
  • Deliver structured programmes focused on life skills, employability, and community integration.
  • Advocate for participants to access education, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, employers, training providers, and community organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with organisational policies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all participants.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Social Care, Social Studies, or a related discipline suitable for a Social Care Worker (Grade 3029).
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of person-centred planning and advocacy principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to transport (desirable).

Location & Employer Information

This position is based in the New Ross Area, County Wexford, within the HSE Dublin and South East region. This role is not a direct HSE contract and terms and conditions may differ from HSE employment.
