Job Overview
This Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Bantry opportunity offers an exciting leadership role within the High Dependency Unit at Bantry General Hospital. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting nursing staff and ensuring clinical excellence.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Bantry will ensure safe, effective and efficient services in line with national HSE standards and best practice guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership within the High Dependency Unit.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care.
- Supervise, support and develop nursing staff through effective management and mentorship.
- Maintain compliance with HSE policies, procedures and clinical governance frameworks.
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with medical and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Monitor standards of practice and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Participate in audit, risk management and service planning activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Have a minimum of three years’ post-registration experience, with relevant acute care experience.
- Demonstrate leadership and team management capabilities.
- Possess excellent clinical, organisational and communication skills.
- Have experience in High Dependency or critical care settings (desirable).
- Be eligible to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary Scale (February 2026): €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – General, Grade 2127).
