The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Emergency Department Offaly position at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore offers an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a busy Emergency Department setting. This permanent whole-time post is based in County Offaly within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.
The successful candidate will demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in Emergency nursing and will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced acute environment.
Job Overview
As Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) in the Emergency Department, you will support nursing leadership, coordinate patient care delivery, and promote best practice standards. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operational management of the Emergency Department.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff.
- Ensure high standards of patient care in line with HSE policies and best practice guidelines.
- Coordinate patient assessment, treatment, and discharge planning within the ED.
- Promote effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audit activities.
- Assist in staff development, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, and risk management procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of relevant post-registration experience in Emergency nursing.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience within the Emergency Department speciality.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an acute hospital setting is desirable.
- Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary Scale: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade Code 2127) in line with February 2026 HSE consolidated pay scales.
- Salary Range (effective 1 February 2026): €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (incremental scale).
