The Director of Nursing 2 Assistant Dublin opportunity at St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network offers a senior leadership role within HSE Dublin and Midlands. This permanent whole-time position plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred oncology nursing services across Dublin South.
The successful candidate will provide professional and operational leadership, ensuring excellence in clinical governance, patient safety, and workforce development within a specialist radiation oncology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing in leading and managing nursing services within St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network.
- Ensure safe, effective, and patient-focused care in line with HSE standards and national clinical guidelines.
- Oversee workforce planning, staff supervision, and professional development initiatives.
- Promote a culture of quality improvement, risk management, and clinical audit.
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development within the radiation oncology setting.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across clinical and administrative teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant senior nursing management experience within an acute or specialist healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality standards, and healthcare legislation.
- Proven ability to manage change and lead service improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
