Job Overview
Sligo University Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Sligo for the Neurology Infusion Suite (Medical 5). This permanent wholetime opportunity offers a rewarding leadership role within a specialist neurology service, delivering high-quality, patient-centred infusion care.
The successful candidate will support clinical excellence, lead nursing practice within the unit, and ensure safe, effective service delivery aligned with HSE standards and national best practice guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing services within the Neurology Infusion Suite.
- Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
- Supervise, support, and develop nursing staff within the unit.
- Monitor clinical standards, infection prevention, and medication safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient flow and service efficiency within the infusion service.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse on the active register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of three years’ post-registration clinical experience, with relevant acute or neurology experience desirable.
- Management or leadership experience at senior staff nurse level or above.
- Demonstrated experience in IV therapies and infusion services.
- Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.

- Salary Scale: €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (February 2026 consolidated pay scale for Clinical Nurse Manager 1, point dependent on experience).
