Job Overview

The Grade VII Project Manager at the National Screening Service (NSS) plays a key leadership role in delivering strategic projects that support national screening programmes across Ireland. This permanent opportunity in Dublin offers experienced administrative professionals the chance to contribute to impactful healthcare initiatives within the HSE.

This role requires strong organisational capability, stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of working within health or public service environments at an appropriate level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned projects within the National Screening Service.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor budgets, resources, and risk management frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and briefings for senior management.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE governance, financial, and operational policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Satisfactory experience in an office under the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body providing services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 at a level not lower than Grade IV (or equivalent).
  • Not less than two years satisfactory experience at Grade IV level (or equivalent) or at a level not lower than Clerical Officer within the HSE or relevant statutory body.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to discharge the duties of a Grade VII Project Manager role.
  • Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Full competence and capability to undertake the duties attached to the office.
  • Good character and suitability for public service employment.

  • Salary aligned with the HSE Grade VII salary scale in accordance with February 2026 consolidated public sector pay scales.
