Job Overview

The Social Worker Team Leader Adult Safeguarding Cavan Monaghan role offers an excellent leadership opportunity within HSE Dublin and North East. This permanent wholetime position focuses on safeguarding vulnerable adults and ensuring the highest standards of professional social work practice.

You will lead and support a dedicated Adult Safeguarding team, providing strategic oversight, supervision, and clinical governance to ensure effective service delivery across Cavan and Monaghan.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and line management to the Adult Safeguarding Social Work team.
• Ensure effective assessment, intervention, and safeguarding planning for vulnerable adults.
• Oversee complex case management and provide expert professional guidance.
• Promote best practice in adult safeguarding in line with national policies and HSE standards.
• Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, and performance management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated care.
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and governance processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Social Work.
• Registration with CORU (or eligibility to register).
• Significant post-qualification experience in social work practice.
• Demonstrated experience in adult safeguarding or related services.
• Leadership or supervisory experience at senior social work level.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and team management skills.
