The Human Resources Manager Letterkenny role offers an excellent leadership opportunity within Letterkenny University Hospital, part of HSE West and North West. This permanent whole-time Grade VIII position plays a key strategic role in supporting workforce planning, employee relations, and organisational performance across hospital services.
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare services by leading HR initiatives, supporting senior management, and ensuring compliance with national HSE policies and public sector regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Human Resources function within Letterkenny University Hospital.
- Provide strategic HR advice and guidance to senior management and clinical leaders.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment campaigns, and talent management initiatives.
- Manage employee relations matters in line with HSE policies and employment legislation.
- Support organisational change programmes and service development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with public sector pay policy, HR circulars, and governance standards.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks.
- Monitor HR metrics and deliver reports to support data-driven decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant third-level qualification in Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant senior-level HR management experience, ideally within healthcare or the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks.
- Experience in managing complex employee relations cases and organisational change.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work strategically while delivering operational excellence.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Location & Employer Information
This position is based at Letterkenny University Hospital, Co. Donegal, within the HSE West and North West health region. The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as service needs arise.
