Job Overview
The Catering Officer Grade I Mullingar position offers an excellent opportunity to join the catering management team at Regional Hospital Mullingar. This permanent whole-time role plays a key part in overseeing catering production, food distribution, and team supervision within a busy acute hospital environment.
Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will support high standards of food safety, quality, and service delivery in line with HSE policies and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily catering production and food distribution services across the hospital.
- Supervise catering staff and ensure effective team coordination.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance with food safety legislation.
- Support stock control, ordering, and cost management procedures.
- Assist in menu planning and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP and hospital infection control standards.
- Contribute to training and development of catering personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in catering production and distribution.
- Proven experience in team supervision within a catering or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Relevant catering or hospitality qualification desirable.
