Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Paediatrics to join its paediatric services team in Donegal. The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Paediatrics Donegal role combines clinical leadership with hands-on patient care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compassion, and evidence-based practice for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and professional supervision within the paediatric unit.
- Coordinate patient care activities to ensure safe, effective, and family-centred services.
- Support and mentor nursing staff to promote professional development and best practice.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, risk management, and patient safety.
- Participate in service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and HSE policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum relevant clinical experience in paediatric nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in acute hospital paediatric settings is highly desirable.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
