The HSE Mid West region is currently recruiting for the position of Health Care Assistant Band 1 within Mental Health Services across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a compassionate, professional healthcare environment.
This Health Care Assistant Band 1 HSE Mid West role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers permanent and specified purpose contracts, on both part-time and whole-time bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to service users within Mental Health Services
- Assist nursing and multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality care
- Support service users with daily living activities in a respectful and dignified manner
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care planning
- Observe and report changes in service users’ physical or mental condition
- Promote a safe and therapeutic environment at all times
- Adhere to HSE policies, procedures, and infection control standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant healthcare qualification aligned with Health Care Assistant (Band 1) requirements
- Experience working in healthcare or mental health settings is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to patient dignity, confidentiality, and best practice standards
- Flexibility to work across different sites within HSE Mid West
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €41,617 – €48,564 per annum (incremental scale: €41,617 / €42,690 / €43,835 / €44,933 / €46,108 / €47,317 / €48,564).
Contracts available include Permanent Part-time, Permanent Whole-time, Specified Purpose Part-time, and Specified Purpose Whole-time positions.
