The CNM3 Lead – Infection Prevention and Control role with Children’s Health Ireland offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a specialist paediatric healthcare setting in Dublin South. This senior nursing position plays a critical role in safeguarding patient safety, enhancing infection prevention standards, and driving best practice across clinical services.
This is a specified purpose, part-time contract ideal for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 3 seeking to make a meaningful impact in infection prevention and control within a nationally significant healthcare organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead and oversee infection prevention and control strategies across clinical departments
- • Develop, implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures
- • Provide expert guidance and education to clinical and non-clinical staff
- • Conduct surveillance, audits, and risk assessments related to infection control
- • Investigate and manage outbreaks in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- • Ensure compliance with national standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development
- • Prepare reports and present findings to senior management
Required Skills & Qualifications
- • Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- • Significant post-registration clinical experience, including leadership experience at CNM level
- • Recognised qualification or postgraduate training in Infection Prevention and Control
- • Strong knowledge of infection surveillance systems and audit processes
- • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- • Proven ability to influence practice and implement change
- • Commitment to continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €71,432 – €80,671 per annum (aligned with Clinical Nurse Manager 3 233X scale).
This is a specified purpose, part-time contract. Working hours will be agreed in line with service requirements.
