The Staff Nurse MRI Mullingar role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department at Regional Hospital Mullingar. This permanent whole-time position within HSE Dublin and Midlands supports the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a modern acute hospital setting.
You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist nursing care in MRI and interventional radiology environments while ensuring patient safety, dignity, and clinical excellence at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing care within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Department.
- Support safe patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery during MRI and interventional radiology procedures.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, radiographers, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Document clinical activity accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Perioperative Directorate.
- Contribute to education, mentorship, and professional development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of recent post-registration experience in MRI and/or interventional radiology.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and perioperative care practices.
- Excellent clinical judgement and patient assessment skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this Staff Nurse MRI Mullingar position ranges from €37,788 to €56,032 per annum, in line with the Staff Nurse – General (Grade 2135) HSE pay scale, inclusive of Long Service Increment (LSI) where applicable.
