Job Overview
Portiuncula University Hospital is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join its dedicated cardiology team. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in delivering high-quality cardiac diagnostic and monitoring services within a dynamic acute hospital environment.
This Senior Cardiac Physiologist Galway position is open to existing employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or other statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret a comprehensive range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations.
- Provide specialist expertise in cardiac diagnostics including ECG, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and echocardiography as required.
- Assist in pacemaker and device clinics, ensuring accurate testing and reporting.
- Supervise and support junior cardiac physiologists and other clinical staff.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and infection prevention.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and audit activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and HSE protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Clinical Measurement/Physiological Measurement or equivalent.
- Significant post-qualification experience demonstrating the depth and breadth relevant to a senior cardiac physiologist role.
- CORU registration (or eligibility for registration) as required.
- Proven experience in advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and service excellence.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €55,114 – €72,168 per annum (including applicable LSIs), in line with HSE pay scales.
