Job Overview
The CNM3 Lead – Infection Prevention and Control at Children’s Health Ireland plays a critical leadership role in safeguarding patient safety and clinical excellence. This senior position provides strategic direction, expert guidance, and operational oversight for infection prevention practices across services. The CNM3 Lead Dublin opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse leader committed to high standards of care and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for infection prevention and control (IPC) services across Children’s Health Ireland.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IPC policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
- Lead surveillance, audit, and reporting systems to ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards.
- Advise senior management and multidisciplinary teams on IPC risks and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate outbreak management and ensure timely investigation and response.
- Support education and training initiatives to enhance IPC awareness and competency.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives aligned with national healthcare standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 7 years post-registration experience, including significant experience in infection prevention and control.
- Demonstrated leadership experience at senior nursing level.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or related field.
- Strong knowledge of national IPC standards, HIQA requirements, and clinical governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage change effectively.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €71,432 – €80,671 per annum (pro rata), aligned with Clinical Nurse Manager 3 pay scale.
This is a specified purpose part-time contract. Working hours will be agreed in line with organisational requirements. Benefits include access to public sector pension schemes, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
