This Director of Nursing Wicklow opportunity offers a senior leadership role within Older Person Services at St Colman’s Residential Care Centre. The successful candidate will lead nursing services, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care while driving clinical excellence and operational performance.
This is a key management position within HSE Dublin and South East, providing strategic direction and leadership in a well-established residential care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing and care services
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care
- Lead, manage, and develop multidisciplinary teams
- Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and compliance standards
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing and budgets
- Collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders
- Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland registration
- Significant senior nursing management experience
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong understanding of HIQA standards and clinical governance
- Experience in Older Person Services or residential care settings
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in healthcare management or leadership (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary scale: €83,459 – €93,142 per annum
Permanent Wholetime position

This role is based at St Colman’s Residential Care Centre in County Wicklow, within the HSE Dublin and South East region. The service provides high-quality residential care for older persons in a supportive and professional environment.
The HSE Dublin and South East region covers Tipperary South, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, and part of South Dublin.
