Job Overview

The Grade VI General Ledger role at Portiuncula University Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations within a major HSE facility in Galway. This position focuses on financial reporting, data analysis, and supporting senior management in decision-making processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and reporting of financial data
Analyse and manipulate financial information to support decision-making
Support financial planning and budgeting processes
Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders
Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
Provide guidance and support to finance team members
Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in financial reporting and data analysis
Strong ability to interpret and manipulate financial data
Experience supporting staff to work effectively and efficiently
Demonstrated experience engaging with senior managers and stakeholders
Excellent organisational and communication skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €57,898 – €70,734 (including long service increments where applicable)

Employment Type: Permanent Wholetime

Location & Employer Information

This position is based in the Finance Department at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. The hospital is part of the HSE West and North West region, serving communities across Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway.
