Job Overview
University Hospital Limerick is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead within its Intensive Care Unit. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to influence patient care, clinical standards, and team development in a high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within the ICU
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain compliance with HIQA standards and HSE policies
- Coordinate staffing, rosters, and resource allocation effectively
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
- Support staff development, training, and performance management
- Collaborate with senior management on service planning and delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including ICU experience
- Proven leadership or management experience in a clinical setting
- Strong clinical knowledge in intensive care nursing
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Relevant postgraduate qualification desirable
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This position offers a structured HSE salary scale ranging from €62,078 to €78,443 (LSI applicable), depending on experience and service increments. Additional benefits include public sector pension, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing professional development opportunities. This is a Permanent Wholetime position based on standard HSE working hours.
