Job Overview

This Registrar in Respiratory Medicine role at Connolly Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical expertise within a dynamic acute hospital setting. Starting in July 2026, the position supports both inpatient and outpatient respiratory services while contributing to high-quality patient care across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient respiratory services
  • Support consultant-led teams in diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Contribute to ward rounds, clinics, and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in on-call rota and emergency care as required
  • Engage in teaching, audit, and continuous professional development

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registration with the Irish Medical Council (or eligibility)
  • Relevant experience in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care
  • Previous hospital-based experience in Ireland is desirable

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

The salary scale for this position ranges from €69,580 to €81,937 per annum, depending on experience and point on the HSE Registrar salary scale.

This is a fixed-term wholetime position with standard HSE working hours, including participation in an on-call rota. Benefits include public sector pension, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing training and development opportunities.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin North, within the HSE Dublin and North East region. The hospital provides a wide range of acute and specialist services and serves a large and diverse population across North Dublin and surrounding counties.
