Job Overview
This Staff Midwife opportunity offers the chance to join a dynamic maternity care team across multiple hospital settings within the Dublin Midlands region. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred midwifery care while supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. A regional panel will be formed to fill current and future vacancies across several key hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based midwifery care across a range of clinical settings
- Carry out midwifery procedures and clinical interventions in line with best practice
- Monitor and record patient observations accurately
- Support ward management and contribute to efficient service delivery
- Administer medications safely in accordance with guidelines
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Demonstrated professional knowledge across the scope of midwifery practice
- Experience in clinical interventions, patient care, and ward environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Commitment to patient safety and high standards of care
- Knowledge of clinical governance and healthcare regulations
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €37,788 – €56,032 (including LSI, based on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time permanent position (wholetime hours apply)
