The Community Worker role within HSE South West offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across communities in Kerry and Cork. This permanent, wholetime position focuses on supporting social inclusion initiatives and collaborating with voluntary, community, and statutory organisations to enhance local wellbeing and services.
This is an ideal role for a qualified Social Worker with strong community engagement experience who is passionate about improving outcomes for individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with community, voluntary, and statutory organisations
- Support social inclusion initiatives across Kerry and Cork regions
- Engage with local communities to identify needs and develop appropriate responses
- Provide professional social work services in line with HSE standards
- Promote community development and empowerment strategies
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and inter-agency partnerships
- Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with policy
- Support service planning and delivery at community level
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification as a Social Worker
- Registration with CORU (or eligibility to register)
- Demonstrated experience working with community, voluntary, or statutory organisations
- Strong understanding of community development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full driving licence and access to transport (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €50,621 – €73,080 (including Long Service Increments)
Employment Type: Permanent Wholetime
