Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a Staff Nurse specialising in neonatal care to join the team at Portiuncula University Hospital. Working within a supportive and clinically focused environment, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to neonates and their families. This role offers strong professional development within the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate neonatal nursing care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for neonates
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including paediatrics and midwifery
- Monitor and respond to changes in neonatal condition promptly
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE standards
- Support and educate parents and families in neonatal care
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times
- Participate in ongoing clinical training and professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Demonstrated recent post-registration experience in neonatal and/or paediatric nursing within the last 2 years
- Strong clinical decision-making and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience in neonatal care settings is highly desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: €37,788 – €56,032 (HSE payscale, aligned to point on scale based on experience, plus applicable allowances and LSI)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime / Specified Purpose Wholetime
