Key Responsibilities

As a Health Care Assistant with HSE Mayo, you will provide essential home support services to clients in their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering person-centred care and support to clients in domestic settings
• Assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities
• Supporting clients to maintain their independence in familiar surroundings
• Working collaboratively with healthcare teams and family members
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Following HSE policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
• Travelling between client homes across Mayo to provide care services

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this Health Care Assistant role in Mayo, you will need:

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in a caring role, either in informal or formal healthcare settings
• Access to reliable personal transport (essential for travel between client homes)
• Full clean driving licence
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and patient approach to care delivery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required by service needs

Desirable Qualifications:

• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support qualification or equivalent
• Previous experience in home care or community health services
• Understanding of person-centred care principles
• Basic IT skills for record-keeping purposes
