Tipperary University Hospital is seeking experienced and dedicated Staff Nurses, Registered Midwives, and Children’s Nurses for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). Job Overview
This Staff Nurse SCBU role in Tipperary University Hospital focuses on delivering specialised neonatal and paediatric care within a supportive and clinically advanced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing and midwifery care within the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)
- Monitor, assess, and respond to the clinical needs of neonates and infants
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Support and guide families through neonatal care pathways
- Manage and coordinate resources effectively within the unit
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to clinical governance standards
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and HSE guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Registered in General Nurse, Children’s Nurse, or Midwives Division
- Demonstrated experience in neonatal nursing, paediatric intensive care, or SCBU
- Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering patient-centred care
