Job Overview

HSE Mid West is seeking a qualified Electrician to support maintenance operations within Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles and other Acute and Older Persons sites as required. The role involves carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding, repair work, and ensuring compliance with safety standards within healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis across healthcare facilities
  • Ensure electrical systems comply with relevant health and safety standards
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes within Older Persons Services sites
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and maintenance requests
  • Assist with inspections, testing, and certification of electrical systems where required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Travel to other Acute and Older Persons sites within HSE Mid West as required
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams and healthcare staff to support service delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant electrical trade qualification
  • Previous experience in electrical maintenance or facilities maintenance environments
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Full driving licence may be required due to travel between sites
  • Experience within healthcare or public sector environments is desirable

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
