Job Overview

The Faculty of Business Operations Manager will lead operational planning, coordinate administrative functions, support faculty governance and quality assurance processes, and contribute to strategic initiatives designed to strengthen academic delivery and industry engagement across ATU.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational support to the Dean, Heads of School, and Heads of Department.
- Coordinate faculty-wide governance processes including compliance, risk management, and accreditation activities.
- Lead and support university-wide projects, initiatives, and committee participation.
- Manage faculty administrative operations while collaborating with HR, Finance, Marketing, and central university services.
- Support workforce planning and operational resource management within the Faculty of Business.
- Prepare and analyse management reports, financial data, faculty KPIs, and operational planning documentation.
- Coordinate academic quality assurance activities including programmatic review processes.
- Support marketing and promotion activities for academic programmes and faculty initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency across the faculty.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and positive staff and student engagement across the university community.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- An Honours degree is essential.
- A minimum of five years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and operational management experience.
- Experience working across functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Academic Affairs, or Quality Assurance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Strong experience in business planning, budgeting, audit preparation, reporting, and operational development.
- Ability to make informed decisions across a broad range of operational and administrative matters.
- Experience working within complex organisational environments and managing change initiatives.
- Knowledge of the higher education sector is desirable.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and project management experience are advantageous.
Salary, Benefits and Contract Details
Salary Scale: Senior Management Grade €89,114 – €114,613.
Candidates external to the higher education sector may be appointed up to the third point of the salary scale (€95,365) in accordance with university policy.
This is a fixed-term contract running until 31 August 2030. A panel may also be formed from this recruitment process for future vacancies.
