Job Overview
The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide specialist occupational therapy services within the Children’s Disability Network Team structure across the Sligo South Donegal Leitrim West Cavan Integrated Healthcare Area. The role involves clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, service development, and supporting children with complex developmental and disability needs.
A panel may be formed from this campaign for future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time and part-time duration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention services for children and young people with disabilities.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Children’s Disability Network Team.
- Develop and implement family-centred intervention plans.
- Support service users in achieving functional independence and participation goals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and case records.
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to junior staff and students where appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary planning activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualification recognised by CORU for Occupational Therapy registration.
- Current CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Relevant postgraduate and senior clinical experience in paediatric or disability services is desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Experience working within children’s disability services or community healthcare settings is advantageous.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and prioritise effectively.
- Full access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with HSE Senior Occupational Therapist pay scales and public sector terms and conditions. The role offers access to public service pension benefits, annual leave entitlements, professional development opportunities, and ongoing multidisciplinary support.
Both permanent and specified purpose contracts are available in full-time and part-time capacities.
