Job Overview
This Grade V Data Manager role in Galway offers an excellent opportunity to work within the Health Service Executive in a critical ICT and data management function. The role involves managing healthcare-related data, producing reports, supporting operational systems, and ensuring the integrity and quality of information used across clinical and administrative services.
The position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is based at Galway University Hospitals within the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data management and reporting activities across Galway University Hospitals.
- Maintain and analyse healthcare datasets to support operational and clinical decision-making.
- Develop reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant healthcare standards.
- Work with clinical information systems and support data quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with ICT teams, healthcare professionals, and management stakeholders.
- Assist in database management and querying using SQL or equivalent database technologies.
- Provide insights and recommendations through data analysis and reporting processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of data management experience relevant to the role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using databases such as SQL or equivalent technologies is desirable.
- Proficiency in business intelligence and reporting tools including Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is desirable.
- Experience working with clinical information systems or healthcare data is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
