Role Overview
The Medical Laboratory Aide will be based in the Histopathology Department at Cork University Hospital. The post holder will provide essential support to laboratory scientists and clinical staff, contributing to the efficient delivery of diagnostic pathology services. There are currently a number of whole-time permanent vacancies available, and a panel will be formed from this campaign to fill current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration at Cork University Hospital.

Salary & Contract
€41,617 – €48,564 per annum (HSE Medical Laboratory Aide scale, Grade 4077, 7-point scale). Salary is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026. Pay for part-time or worksharing arrangements is calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Contract type: Permanent Wholetime.

The post holder will be based in the Histopathology Department, Cork University Hospital (Ospidéal na hOllscoile, Corcaigh), Cork. Cork University Hospital is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals, serving the population of Cork and Kerry and providing regional specialist services across HSE South West.
